more work, test_gen_4 workunits
Sending out some more workunits, let me know how they are in terms of runtime/credit. 27 Jan 2012 | 20:58:32 UTC · Comment

Started some new searches, and a status update
So I've started up a few new runs. I've implemented some more dynamic calculation of the FLOPS per each workunit, so let me know if the credit is about right. The "test_mtub_1" workunits should generate the same credit as before, but the "test_crp_1" workunits should be a lot faster (maybe 100x faster) and generate a corresponding amount less credit. If things are off either way let me know.

On another note, I've been having a lot of issues because the server isn't supported very well with me being at University of North Dakota and the server being at RPI (a lot of administrative headaches to say the least). I think we'll be moving the server over to my new BOINC server at UND, which should hopefully mean I'll be able to update things a lot more efficiently, will have more access to the server for my students, and really get the ball rolling.

Again, thanks for sticking in there!

status update
Hi Everyone,

Just letting you guys know I've finished porting the code to c++. It's available on github if you'd like to take a look at it:

https://github.com/travisdesell/dnaathome_client

I'm testing it to see if is returning the same results cross platform. I'm hoping to have new workunits for the new application out by the end of the week, but I'm also traveling to Bali for the Computer Applications and Computational Science conference (http://irast.net/conferences/CACS/2011/) to present some of the results from DNA@Home, so it might not be until I get back.

I'll also post the slides from my talk on here so you can all take a look at it.

validation issues should be fixed
I've updated the windows, OSX and linux versions (except for 32 bit linux because I turned off that machine in the office before flying home for the weekend) -- but the 32 should still validate correctly vs the other new applications.

Let me know if you're having any further validation issues with version 0.20 of the application.

more workunits and an update
Hi Everyone!

Started up a new batch of workunits. I also finished the new version of the application so that should be on the server shortly -- I'm hoping to start testing it next week. The new version of the application is going to allow for a much steadier stream of work, basically workunits will be available to everyone who wants one as long. :)
